Texture doesn't seem to follow radiused edge to the next surface

I’m working on the render below and it looks (to me) like the texture on the front and back of the plastic casing does not continue through the radiused edge and on to the next surface. It almost looks like separate textures have been applied to the front and sides of the casing. Any ideas? Is this a natural phenomenon I’ve just not noticed before? Or could I adjust some settings to make the transition of the texture from the front of the casing to the sides of the casing smoother.

The effect I’m describing isn’t really easy to see unless you zoom in to the image.

Thanks!

is the radius edge there in the geometry or is it a rounded setting in KS? it does look like the roughness setting has changed on the radius, looks more shiny. do you get the same effect if you change materials? If i was tryingot get that Id be using a curvature node to mask the bump texture out. I’d say change the material to a fresh different one and see if you get the same effect.

An edge <30 degree won’t get a radius. It’s limited.

Hey, Matt. There’s a radius edge in the geometry. I haven’t tried changing material. I’ll give that a shot. The curvature node is also a good idea.

Hey Marco, thanks for the info. So, do I need to retesselate or edit my surface normals?

No need to retesselate. Luxion has to change the limited angle value.
Best way is now to add round in modelling tools.
